Breaking News:Golden State Warriors Land Brooklyn Nets star forward in ‘Bold’ Trade

Building a roster is the Brooklyn Nets’ only option. Their future draft picks are already out of their control, and they have no clear route to contention. The Nets have no motivation to start over and decimate their squad in order to continue depending on the Phoenix Suns for draft picks.

But the closest thing the Nets could come right now to a typical rebuild would be to cash in on existing players via trades and receive additional draft picks and high-potential players in exchange.

But, unless the Nets wish to preserve their core and be a regular playoff club while they wait for the draft capital to gradually reappear, trades remain their only viable option. In order to help the Nets recoup some draft capital this offseason, Bleacher Report’s Greg Schwartz dissected one “bold” move that may be made.

The Golden State Warriors would receive Jonathan Kuminga, Aaron Wiggins, a 2025 first-round selection, a 2026 second-round pick, and a 2028 second-round pick from the Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges and Dennis Schroeder.

Since the Houston Rockets received so many of the Nets’ own future picks in the James Harden trade, the team finds itself in an odd situation at the moment. But they would receive a package of draft picks, including an unprotected first-round pick the next summer, along with veteran talent in Wiggins, a high-upside prospect in Kuminga, 21, and veteran talent in Wiggins, according to Schwartz’s description of the draft pick transaction.

The Warriors would be in heaven if they could release Andrew Wiggins from his contract and acquire a fantastic complementary talent to go along with Stephen Curry. As the Nets aim to develop young players and find a star to lead them, acquiring Kuminga and a first-round selection in exchange would be beneficial.

In addition to having a fun young player, another first-round pick on the roster in a year, and more expensive contracts that will eventually expire and free up cap space for when the Nets are in a better position to compete, Brooklyn is able to do this while the Nets may still search for a different trade partner to acquire more draft picks.
