Breaking News:Crystal Palace is set to sign a prolific star player

According to a Daily Mail article, Crystal Palace recently took out a sizable loan, which could indicate that they would likely go on a spending binge during the summer transfer season.

Remarkably, Dougie Freedman and Oliver Glasner recently disclosed that they are already planning to hire at Selhurst Park, with talks ostensibly including a really gifted football player.

A Bola reports that the Austrian has requested that Marcus Edwards be brought to Selhurst Park by Crystal Palace for the summer.

According to the Portuguese news source, the Sporting CP No. 10 has a release clause in his contract for €60 million (£51 million). However, because the attacker is eager to join the Premier League, the Primeira Liga team may be able to negotiate a cheaper price.

Indeed, of all the players, Edwards has been compared to Maradona.

The remarks were made by Leon Osman, a former Everton and England player, who saw the Londoner destroy Tottenham in the UEFA Champions League with Sporting CP back in 2022.

The BBC Sport pundit said of Edwards’ incredible run: “I can only compare it to Maradona for Argentina against England in 1986.”

“He picked up the ball, turned, and I think he counted six or seven Spurs players before he got inside the penalty area. He dribbled the ball around Romero and then tapped it with his right foot.”

This season, Edwards has made 38 appearances for Sporting CP across all competitions, tallying eight assists and six goals.

Marcus Edwards would be a fantastic addition.
This might turn out to be a fantastic business deal if Freedman can convince Sporting CP to drop their current £51 million asking price and instead negotiate a deal closer to £30 million.

One of the most exciting English strikers not playing in the Premier League is Edwards, and many people are still surprised that Tottenham let him go in 2019.

The 25-year-old is extremely skilled and plays a style akin to Wilfried Zaha. Having grown up in Enfield, he shouldn’t have too much trouble adjusting to SE25.

Since anything can happen in the summer, make sure to keep a watch on this scenario.
