Breaking News: The Atlanta Braves dropped one spot in the most recent power rankings

The Atlanta Braves lost one spot in the most recent MLB.com Power Rankings after going 3-3 the previous week.

The Braves up to No. 3 from No. 2. The New York Yankees jumped up to the number two spot. The Los Angeles Dodgers held the number one position.

“Marcell Ozuna has had a turbulent time since leaving Miami for Atlanta, as well as really everywhere else, but he may be the best hitter in the game right now. He equaled former Cardinals outfield mate Tyler O’Neill for the most in the majors with his stunning home run that he hit on his final pitch to cap off an incredible Braves comeback victory on Sunday. It was his seventh of the season. His $16 million option is due to expire this offseason; two years ago, it would have seemed impossible that the Braves would exercise it, but now it looks like a great deal.”

In a scheduled three-game series at home against the New York Mets, the Braves went 1-2; however, the weather forced the postponement of the series’ third game. Additionally, Atlanta won two of the three games it played away against the Miami Marlins.

The Braves travel to Houston to play a three-game series against the Astros this week, then this weekend they come home to play a three-game series against the Texas Rangers, the reigning World Series champions.
