Kevin O’Sullivan Signs Contract Extension Ahead of 2024 Season
Florida Gators head baseball coach Kevin O’Sullivan has secured a contract extension that will keep him with the team through October 2033. The extension, signed in January, significantly boosts his salary, making him the second-highest-paid coach in the SEC.
O’Sullivan, who has been with the Gators for 17 seasons, will earn an average annual salary of $1,844,000, an increase of approximately $600,000 from his previous salary. This new contract underscores his value to the program and his impressive track record.
Since joining Florida, O’Sullivan has transformed the Gators into a powerhouse in college baseball. He led the team to its first College World Series title in 2017 and guided them to another championship in 2023, narrowly missing out on the title by just one game against the Louisiana State Tigers. Under his leadership, the Gators have made eight appearances in Omaha and secured three SEC Coach of the Year awards.
As the winningest head coach in Gators baseball history, O’Sullivan’s influence on the program is undeniable. Florida’s baseball fans and the university are eagerly anticipating the upcoming season, which begins with a three-game series against the St. John’s Red Storm this Friday at Condron Family Ballpark.
