The offensive lineman for the Detroit Lions will need to be replaced.
Left guard Jonah Jackson has found a new home for the foreseeable future, despite the fact that the organization was able to keep Graham Glasgow. Jackson has reportedly agreed to a $51 million three-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
$34 million is guaranteed to Jackson. Given that he played a significant role in the team’s success, Detroit will be missing a left guard.
Arriving as a third-round selection in 2020, Jackson had established himself as a mainstay for the offensive line of the Lions. He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2021 after starting 57 games in four seasons.
Yet for the last two seasons, Jackson has battled injuries. Last year, he was absent from six games in all—including the NFC Championship—between the regular season and the playoffs.
Colby Sorsdal and Kayode Awosika were the Lions’ go-to players to step in for Jackson.
After just re-signing offensive guard Kevin Dotson, he will be an addition to the Rams’ offensive line. Jackson will also get back together with Matthew Stafford, the former quarterback for the Lions who was a rookie when Stafford last played for the team.
