Breaking News: Hull City is set to sign Bryan Reynolds

While the search continues for Liam Rosenior’s replacement, East Yorkshire will see a number of changes during the off-season.

This has resulted in a slow-moving transfer rumor mill for the Tigers, with Acun Ilicali’s primary attention being directed towards the person who will succeed the 39-year-old, who was fired at the start of the month after leading the team to their best result since being demoted from the Premier League.

That might all be about to change, though, as reports have once more connected City to a long-term objective.

This is due to the fact that, as per a GOAL.com report, the Tigers have begun negotiations with Bryan Reynolds, a right-back who the Championship team had previously expressed interest in before Ilicali took over the team in January 2022.

The 22-year-old, who spent the previous season at KVC Westerlo on loan from Italian powerhouse AS Roma, has reportedly attracted the attention of numerous suitors during his time there, according to the most recent source. He signed a permanent contract with the Belgian Pro League team last summer for an alleged €3.5 million.

The report continues, stating that other teams from throughout the continent—namely, those in England, France, and Turkey—have been keeping an eye on the defender’s progress. After that, it announces that the Tigers and an unidentified Ligue 1 team have begun negotiations with Reynolds.

Similar to Hull, KVC Westerlo is owned by Oktay Ercan, a Turkish businessman, which may pique the interest of larger clubs in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Links between the two sides only started to surface around this time last year. Hull is reported to have expressed interest in Reynolds’ availability while he was still on AS Roma’s roster alongside Watford and Swansea.

Reynolds was questioned about the prospect of moving to England in Lyle Foster’s footsteps during an interview with the Belgian news organization VoetbalNieuws. Reynolds was also being watched by West Ham United.

“We’ll see about the future,” he stated. That’s all not important to me right now. Westerlo is the only thing that matters. The rest will work itself out if I play well and the team plays well.”
