Aston Villa submit a loan offer for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips

According to sources that spoke to Football Insider, Aston Villa has made a loan offer to Kalvin Phillips, a midfielder for Manchester City.

Although Everton is also interested in signing the midfield player, the 28-year-old is pressing for a move away from the Premier League champions.

Football Insider reported on July 27 that after failing to make an impression under Pep Guardiola, Phillips is hoping to depart the Etihad permanently this summer.

Man City would prefer to part with Phillips permanently, but if necessary, they would take a loan deal.

After acquiring Amadou Onana from Everton for £50 million earlier in the summer, Villa is now looking for another central midfield player.

Phillips has only made 31 appearances for the champions since joining Man City for £45 million in 2022, 14 of which were as a starter.
Before being cut from the team, the midfield player had a terrible sequence of poor performances during his second half of the previous season while on loan at West Ham.
