The Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions will take the field on “Sunday Night Football” next week.
After securing the No. 6 seed in the NFC on Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams now know when they will face the Detroit Lions in the NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend.
As the playoff schedule was released on Sunday night, L.A. learned that it will face Detroit at 5:15 p.m. PT on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” next week in an attempt to extend its season to the divisional round.
When the Rams and Lions play each other the following week, a lot is at stake. In addition to the obvious win-or-go-home scenario, there is a great deal of franchise momentum at stake in the wake of Detroit’s first division triumph since 1993 and Los Angeles’ incredible comeback from a 3-6 start to the season.
Matthew Stafford will also be playing in his home city of Detroit, where he spent 12 seasons before to being traded to the Rams in exchange for current Lions quarterback Jared Goff.
