Remy Gardner has announced his return to MotoGP after a two-year hiatus, filling in for the injured Alex Rins at the German Grand Prix in Sachsenring, July 2024. The former Moto2 champion, who had moved to World Superbike after his rookie season in MotoGP in 2022, expressed his excitement for the opportunity to rejoin the premier class. He acknowledged that although it was only a temporary stint, it provided a valuable learning experience.

Gardner faced challenges during his return, particularly with tire management in the latter part of the race, an area he admitted requires more experience. Despite these difficulties, Gardner remained optimistic, stating that his race pace improved compared to the previous day’s sprint and that he provided useful feedback to Yamaha. His return highlighted his growth as a rider, and while he didn’t achieve a podium finish, his determination and valuable insights offered hope for future opportunities​(
