This week, the Boston Red Sox promoted Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, and Kyle Teel—their top three prospects—to Worcester, marking a significant advancement in their farm system.
They’re still working to elevate the youth movement a week later.
Infield prospect Kristian Campbell of the Red Sox is apparently being promoted to Triple-A Worcester, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive and Alex Speier of The Boston Globe.
Since being promoted to Double-A in early June, Campbell has dominated the ball, winning Eastern League Player of the Month in the process. The No. 5 prospect for the Red Sox sliced.364/.466/.589 (as of Sunday) in 55 games at Double-A Portland, with eight home runs and a 1.055 OPS. The 2023 fourth-round pick is now only a few steps away.
During their Triple-A introductory news conference, the “Big Three” prospects gushed about Campbell and expressed their want to work with him again soon. It took just a week for that reunion to come together after Boston made its choice.
