BREAKING:Dak Prescott Misses Practice Due to Lingering Issue

This time around, the Dallas Cowboys training camp exudes a faint feeling of angst instead of the typical confidence.

Three of its best players, including wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, pass rusher Micah Parsons, and quarterback Dak Prescott, have contract extensions coming up, but there’s little indication that an agreement will be reached soon.
According to NFLPreme on Instagram, Prescott apparently skipped a recent practice due to ankle soreness. This could be related to an injury he was recovering from weeks prior.

Given that Prescott was spotted wearing a walking boot earlier this summer, some may be wondering if this is just a convenient way for him to miss practice and avoid being hurt as he attempts to earn an extension.

Although Prescott’s status as a really outstanding quarterback is debatable—especially in light of his inconsistent play in crucial games and the postseason—he did have a fantastic 2023 campaign.

In addition to being third in passing yards and tied for second in pass completion percentage, he led the NFL with 410 completed passes and 36 touchdown passes.

For weeks, there has been a nagging suspicion that the Cowboys might not be entirely committed to him as their long-term signal-caller and that they might instead choose to let him finish out the remaining year on his current contract before making him a free agent.

But according to recent statements made by Cowboys executive Stephen Jones—the owner Jerry Jones’ son—the organization intends to re-sign Prescott in addition to Parsons and Lamb.
