Kyree King is set to represent Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 4×100-meter relay pool

Former WKU track and field athlete Kyree King will compete for Team USA in the 4×100 meter relay pool at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. King played with the Hilltoppers between 2015 and 2016.

“We feel a great sense of pride anytime a former Hilltopper can make it to the Olympics,” WKU Track and Field Head Coach Brent Chumbley remarked of the achievement. “Kyree is competing for Team USA, and we wish him the best.”

King competed for the renowned 4×100 relay team, which advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships and finished in fifth place. The relay team also took home the Conference USA Outdoor Championship in 2016. In the 100-meter dash, King also won the CUSA title.

His performance in the 200 meters in the NCAA Championships helped him earn an all-American status. The Ontario, California native participated in four different NCAA Outdoor Championship events that year.

Among his other achievements include a semifinalist in the 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, a silver medalist in the 2022 NACAC Championships, and a member of Team USA for the 2024 World Athletics Relays.

On August 8, the 4×100 relay squad will compete in Paris, France. The opening ceremony of the Olympics will take place this Friday, July 26.
