Toul remained a watchful observer throughout, perched over the shoulders of the early leaders, France’s Alois Abraham and Italy’s Luca Cavazzuti.

And with 600 meters remaining, Toul followed every step that Serbia’s Aldin Catovic took to take the lead. The Czech emerged victorious in their final lap struggle for control on the back straight.

In the last straight, Catovic valiantly attempted to take the lead again, but Toul was too powerful. In 3:54.77, he won with a final lap time of 53.22. In 3:55.14, Abraham received a bronze award, while in 3:56.55, Catovic received a silver one. Toul, who is only 16 years old, is registered for the 3000m race on Sunday.

He remarked, “I could go faster, but I’m satisfied because I have another discipline tomorrow—3000 meters.” “I feel at ease and have conserved enough energy for tomorrow’s finals.”

At the European Championships, winning two gold medals would mean the world to me. I enjoy the hard work and dedication that Kenya’s bracelet symbolizes, therefore I wear it. You can excel if you follow through on that.

At the tender age of 16, Toul has already set a lifetime best of 3:40.98, surpassed only by European U18 racers Niels Laros (3:39.46) and Jakob Ingebrigtsen (3:39.92).
