The Sonoma Raceway announced this week that the National Hot Rod Association, or NHRA, will be making a comeback in July 2025, bringing its thundering engines and lightning-fast speeds with it.
The 37th annual return of NHRA dragsters, which are capable of reaching high speeds of 338 mph while racing down the quarter-mile drag strip at Sonoma Raceway, is scheduled for next year.
Pro Stock cars, Pro Stock motorbikes, Funny Cars, and Top Fuel dragsters are all featured in the three-day event. Thousands of race fans anticipate an exciting event as they watch drivers compete for national titles and the opportunity to sip excellent wine from the Sonoma Raceway iconic winner’s wine glass trophy.
“Nothing compares to the intensity and thrill of NHRA drag racing set against the breathtaking scenery of Sonoma,” stated Brian Flynn, executive vice president and general manager of Sonoma Raceway. The tradition of this event is now highly valued, and we are forward to see what 2025 has in store for both our drivers and fans.
Weeks before the raceway’s July 26–28, 2024 DENSHO NHRA Sonoma Nationals are scheduled to take place, the announcement was made.
