In their 19th round New South Wales Cup encounter in Sydney on Saturday, the One New Zealand Warriors pulled off the biggest comeback of the season, outscoring Parramatta 46-28 after halftime with 42 points in response.
The fifth-place Warriors were headed in the same direction at halftime, trailing the Eels by 24 points after suffering a humiliating 16-46 loss to the Bulldogs the week before.
However, in a hardly credible comeback, they turned the competition upside down with one of the most astounding performances in the second half of the game.
Driven by their performance in the first quarter, fullback Setu Tu gave the Warriors the perfect start to the second half with a goal from dummy half four minutes in.
It would set off a chain reaction of points.
Just three minutes following Tu’s touchdown, prop Zyon Maiu’u celebrated his injury comeback by setting up captain Kalani Going for a beautiful short pass.
