Angel Reese, a former standout player at LSU, and her alleged rookie competitor, Caitlin Clark, were both selected for the WNBA All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 2.
According to the picks, Clark will play for the Indiana Fever and Reese for the Chicago Sky in the WNBA All-Star Game, which is scheduled for July 20 in Phoenix.
Twenty-five percent of the vote went to current WNBA players, fifty percent went to fans, and twenty-five percent went to a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters for the first selection of the All-Stars.
The top ten vote-getters (in alphabetical order) after taking into account the votes cast by fans, players, and media were: Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever), Clark (Indiana), Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx), Kahleah Copper (Phoenix), Dearica Hamby (Los Angeles Sparks), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings), Breanna Stewart (New York), A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces), and Jackie Young (Las Vegas). They are listed in alphabetical order.
Being in the top 10 automatically names Boston, Clark, Hamby, and Ogunbowale to play in the All-Star Game and assigns them to Team WNBA. These players are not currently on the roster of the USA women’s national team for the 5-on-5 format.
