JUST IN: Hull City star gives his verdict on Premier League move

Ozan Tufan, a well-liked Turkish midfielder, says he still dreams of playing in the Premier League despite rumors that he may be joining West Ham.

The 29-year-old, who has eight goals for City this season, has been linked to the Hammers, but Tufan says his priority is still leading the Tigers to a spot in the Premier League in the nine games left in the season.

With three points behind Norwich, City is currently in seventh place in the Championship. However, they have a game coming up on Good Friday when they host Stoke City in front of a sold-out MKM Stadium crowd. Two games that could determine the course of an exciting season are against league leaders Leeds United at Elland Road.

With eight goals in 18 starts this season, Ozan has been a vital member of Liam Rosenior’s team. However, he has found it difficult to secure a regular berth in recent weeks, especially in light of the quality of his countryman Abdush Omur, who joined from Trabzonspor in the last days of the January transfer window.

Nevertheless, rumors have begun to circulate that David Moyes may be interested in the seasoned Turkish international this summer. But after his struggles at Watford, Ozan insists he is fully focused on the team that offered him a second chance in England.

When asked about the Hammers, Tufan told Turkish network Sporx, “I love London very much.” It’s a location I really like being. I used to go there every day after training while I was a Watford student. Let’s see (what comes next). A dream has come to me. But it will be even more enjoyable if I travel to the Premier League with Hull.”

Ozan also gave owner Acun Ilicali credit for convincing the midfield player to stay in January of last year despite plans to return to Turkey by luring him away from Fenerbahce and giving him a second opportunity at English football.

“Acun is like a brother to me, an older brother,” he stated. “In my opinion, he made the proper choice in purchasing a team in the Championship. If he achieves his league dream of being promoted, everyone will be talking about him and the world will be aware of it. He is one of those people that values football highly. He makes an excellent president.”
