- Rumors suggest Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby could be traded this offseason.
- The Chicago Bears are seeking a pass rusher to complement Montez Sweat.
- Former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher endorsed the idea of Chicago acquiring Crosby.
- Acquiring Crosby would likely require significant draft capital and possibly players.
There have been plenty of rumors flying around the Chicago Bears shortly after their 2025 season, specifically looking at one superstar pass rusher who may have played his last down in Las Vegas.
After the Raiders shut him down in the final two games of the season, there has been rumors and speculation that Maxx Crosby has played his final season in Las Vegas and could be on the move this offseason. NFL Insider Jay Glazer said this week on Radio Row that he Crosby’s time with the Raiders is done, while Crosby wouldn’t fully comment on the matter when asked about it.
While Chicago had a highly successful season this year, there was still plenty left to be desired when it came to their defensive pass rush, looking to find a complement opposite of Montez Sweat. The team’s big signing in free agency last year, Dayo Odeyingbo suffered a torn Achilles early in the season, and now there are whispers about Crosby potentially landing in Chicago.
Legendary Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was a guest at Radio Row and spoke to CHGO Bears about the possibility of landing Crosby, and he gave full approval for the franchise to go and get him if the possibility is there.
“I wish they would,” Urlacher said. “…I’m such a huge fan of his. That dude plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played. He plays a million miles an hour every snap, doesn’t take plays off and he makes huge plays.”
Crosby has been one of the NFL’s best pass rushers over the past several seasons and the possibility of adding him on the opposite side of Sweat would fill a void that the Bears have had for the past couple of years. There’s no real legs to a rumor of bringing Crosby to Chicago, but it’s likely going to take heavy draft capital and a playmaker (or two) to land the superstar in blue and orange. If general manager Ryan Poles is able to, Urlacher will definitely be a fan of the move.
